Frequently Asked Questions

The FAQ’s below try to provide stock answers for many frequently asked questions. However, it is often the case that it is best to contact  Gulabin Lodge directly with any specific query.

Booking

Is a deposit required?
We will take a deposit of £50 for all bookings. For Exclusive Use Lodge Bookings the deposit will be £150. The deposit will confirm the booking although it is often possible to make and hold a tentative booking for a few days to allow guests to finalise overall plans

Can payment be made by credit card?
Yes, credit card payments are accepted, as is an online payment system through Pay Pal under the tariff section of the website www.gulabinlodge.co.uk. There is 2.5% charge for all card transactions over an amount of £100. Cheques are also accepted and should be made payable to Gulabin Lodge and forwarded to the following address: Gulabin Lodge, Spittal of Glenshee, nr Blairgowrie. Pertshire. PH10 7QE. Remember, never send cash.

Can I change my booking once made?
Contact us as soon as you know of any change in circumstances. We will endeavour to find alternative dates or rooming arrangements if required. The closer to the arrival date, the more difficult it will be to accommodate a change and guests may lose their deposit if cancellation leads to loss of business.

Can I make my booking over the internet?
An online booking facility is available with Booking.com, but this will show limited availability only. No weekends are allocated to the Booking.com website so please do contact us for any weekend group booking.

Arrival

Will there always be someone at the lodge to greet me?
No, we do not operate a 24hr reception.  During normal working hours there is generally someone on site to show you in. If you are arriving after 6pm, in the main hallway reception of the Lodge you will find details on a notice board of your room allocation and general info on the Lodge etc. Your room key will be in your door.

Does Gulabin Lodge accommodate late arrivals?
Yes we do, and the procedure is explained above ref room allocations etc. If your arrival is going to be delayed, please contact us as soon as you are aware. Remember, if you arrive late, others may be sleeping.

Is there sufficient Car Parking Facilities at the Lodge?
Yes, there is a large car park located at the bottom of the drive for all vehicles. The driveway at the top of the driveway by the entrance to the lodge is for unloading purposes only. No vehicles are to be parked outside the main lodge entrance. The car park can take four 52 seat coaches if required.

Is there secure storage for cycles?
Yes, please advise requirements at time of booking.  There is also a bike stand available for bike repairs.

Gulabin Lodge Facilities

Do you provide single sex rooms?
Yes if required.

What is included in the price of accommodation?
On a self catering basis, a bed, excellent cooking and dining facilities, toilet and washing facilities, full bed linen, heated showers, but guests are requested to provide their own towels. These can be provided if required at £1 pppn.

Will Gulabin Lodge cater for large parties?
Yes, we have bed spaces for 34-37 people in the main lodge and 12-13 in Gulabin House  so lots of space. Many groups will book the entire Lodge and House together for Exclusive Use which is very popular.

Can food be provided during our stay?
Yes, all food can be provided for groups of over eight in total. B&B is available as well as Full Board if required.

Can we stay at Gulabin Lodge during the day?
Yes with all facilities available. Please remember that our cleaners may need you to vacate communual areas for a period of time whilst they complete their work.

Can we bring our dog into the lodge?
Well behaved dogs are accepted. Please ensure you inform us of any dogs as they are only allowed in the downstairs rooms. There is a £3 charge per night for dogs to stay in the Lodge.

Departure

What time do we need to depart on our final day?
To allow for other incoming guests the departure time is 11am.  An extended time of departure is sometimes possible but will need to be arranged beforehand.

Do we need to clean the hostel before departing?
We expect guests to leave the hostel in a reasonable condition ready for cleaning.

What happens if I am not satisfied with any aspect of the lodge or service?
Please inform the managers or owners as soon as possible, preferably during your stay, as this will provide the opportunity to resolve the issue immediately. We depend on the feedback of guests to improve our service.
