What equipment do participants need to bring?
All technical equipment for all activities is provided. Outdoor clothing and footwear are not provided.

What equipment can be hired on-site?
A limited stock of waterproof clothing and footwear is available for hire if required.

What sizes of clothing are available for rent?
Various sizes are available.

Age groups

What age groups can Gulabin Lodge cater for?
All age groups from young children to adults. There are 34-37 beds between 9 bedrooms in Gulabin Lodge and 12-14 beds between 5 bedrooms in Gulabin House.

What is the teacher to child ratio required?
One teacher to every 10 children if possible. We fully understand this may not be possible for all groups. Please advise at time of booking if not.


Can packed lunches be provided when required?
Yes, for off site activities these will be provided in place of lunch at the lodge.

Evening activities

What evening activities are available?
Various evening activities are available and these can be weather dependent. There is also the opportunity for children to write postcards in the evenings and we will generally have a talent show at the end of every visit.


Does Gulabin Lodge have separate areas for teachers and pupils?
All rooms are located in the Lodge and house but there are separate bedrooms for teachers and staff.

What facilities does Gulabin Lodge have for guests?
The Lodge is a 4 Star Visit Scotland rated as Activity Accommodation. There is underfloor heating throughout, lounges with log fires and is very well suited to groups. Gulabin House is all very modern, again with underfloor heating and a large spacious lounge which includes a 60″ TV for the movie nights.

In the event of a larger group can additional accommodation be provided. If so,where would this be locd?
Yes, in a local hotel

What exactly does full board accommodation provide?
Breakfast, lunch, evening meal (2 courses).


Where are the activities offered
There are various activities available on site and locally catering for all ages and abilities.

What is the instructor to participant ratio during activities?
We generally work on a 1:8 ratio for the majority of sessions, but for some of the water based activities it will reduce to 1:6.

How experienced are the instructors?
All instructors are fully qualified and hold National Governing Body Awards for all activities being taught. All are very experienced and have worked in the industry for some time.

Is Gulabin Lodge AALS registered?

Do you have Risk Assessments in place for all activities?
Yes, for all activities and can be supplied on request.


How are participants transported to activities?
We have a minibus to transport all of our clients; other vehicles are hired as and when needed.

Can transfers from railway stations or local towns be provided?
Yes, if booked in advance.
